Suicide SquadвЂ™s Harley was defined entirely by her unwavering devotion to the Joker, and her insanity. In the comics, Poison Ivy hates the Joker, and encourages Harley to end her abusive relationship with him. The contrast between hyperactive Harley Quinn and the quietly deceptive Poison Ivy might produce great chemistry, and the relationship could develop into an interesting character arc for Harley. This may appear like pandering to teenage boys, and it is, but introducing a same-sex relationship to a comic book film would be nothing short of groundbreaking. ItвЂ™s possible that HarleyвЂ™s spin-off could focus on, or feature, a romance between the two. In fact, itвЂ™s heavily implied that their friendship isnвЂ™t quite platonic. In the current run of comics, Harley is close friends with fellow sinister sex symbol, Poison Ivy. This isВ a golden opportunity for Margot Robbie to finally escape Jared LetoвЂ™s annoying Joker. With rival comic book studio Marvel only recently making the commitment to a female-led superhero film, itвЂ™s interesting that DC is already populating their fledgling universe with so many strong female characters. Imagine a superpowered version of Taylor SwiftвЂ™s squad and you get the idea. And she inspired pretty much every Halloween costume this year.Д«ut the project isnвЂ™t entirely centered around Harley, itвЂ™s rumoured to feature many of DCвЂ™s famous female heroes and villains, such as Batgirl and Poison Ivy.

Robbie delivered a fun performance of a fan favorite, managing to remain likable despite the terrible one-liners she was forced to deliver. Viola Davis as Amanda Waller was solid too, but her character is too small to deliver a spin-off. Sure, Will Smith was enjoyable, but he was playing himself and his character, Deadshot, is fairly forgettable.
